Taste of Frankfort Avenue, Frankfort, KY, June 28
Posted by admin
Twenty-eight restaurants from the Crescent Hill, Clifton and St. Matthews neighborhoods will proffer their edible wares from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 28 at the 17th annual Taste of Frankfort Avenue at the Clifton Center, 2117 Payne St.

The event, which includes silent auctions of luxury items such as stays at mountain retreats, is a fundraiser for the historic former school turned performance and arts center.

"Our neighborhood restaurants are very generous to us; they donate 500 individual servings of their food for the Taste," said Cindy Adelberg, executive director of the Clifton Center. "The food tables are spread out throughout the center: some on the stage and some downstairs. People get to see a lot of this beautiful building," which is the former St. Francis of Rome School.
Participating restaurants include Bourbons Bistro (oysters Rockefeller); Porcini (tortellini alla matricianna); The Irish Rover (grilled chicken with asparagus); Basa Restaurant (grilled lemongrass-crusted pork); The Grape Leaf (spanakopita); L&N Bistro (shrimp and grits); North End Cafe (omelets); Volare (lamb slyders); Zen Garden (tomato dill soup); and Caffe Classico (empanadas de copetin). The event will include a cash bar serving wine and beer, and local coffee vendors also will be on hand.

Tickets are $40 and routinely sell out before the event starts. So to get yours, visit or call 896-8480.
