Grand Festival - Sunday's Grand Festival at Fort Mason in San Francisco will showcase over 220 phenomenal producers of pinot noir. Consumers will be able to sample up to 500 pinots from every important domestic pinot noir region, from the Russian River Valley to the Santa Lucia Highlands, Oregon to Carneros, the Anderson Valley to the Sonoma Coast to the Santa Rita Hills. Come and taste the highly acclaimed wines, and talk with the gifted winemakers who created them. Local specialty food purveyors will serve delectables that pair well with pinot. Focus Tastings - Our Focus Tastings epitomize the Pinot Days tagline, "Serious Fun." Each tasting features specific pinot noir regions, allowing attendees to taste 16 incredible wines and to meet the celebrated winemakers who create them. By "meet the winemakers" we do not mean see them from afar; winemakers sit with attendees at round tables as we taste their wines blind, in four flights. Conversation and laughter abound in a comfortable, stimulating atmosphere. As we reveal the wines after each flight, the winemakers stand up and share their stories and insight. The centerpiece of these tastings is neither the wines nor the winemakers, but the tasting experience itself, of which everyone is a part. So whether you know pinot noir like the back of your hand or just know that you like it and want to learn more, these tastings offer you unparalleled access to the pinot world and, plain and simple, a great time. Spectacular Tour of The Russian River Valley - We're not folks who overstate, and we mean the word "Spectacular" quite literally. Those who have visited the Russian River Valley know that its views and landscapes are nothing short of breathtaking, and its wines are as stunning as the vineyards from which they come. Join us for behind-the-scenes visits to Merry Edwards, Dutton Goldfield, Inman Family, Benovia Winery, and Iron Horse. Enjoy Freeman and Iron Horse wines with a pinot-paired box lunch by our new young discovery, chef Abby McManigle, whose seasoned insticts in choosing foods that complement pinot belies her youth! This is a one-of-a kind day for pinot lovers, and one that we hope you will not miss! Click here for more information.
