Never before have so many artisans and purveyors assembled together in a single San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace and Farmers Market Excursion where culinary enthusiasts will enjoy a philanthropic lunch-time indulgence, ask questions, and learn first-hand the inner workings of successful enterprises situated in the famous landmark. “People are living in shelters and trying to rebuild their lives. It is impossible to be aware of the suffering the people in Japan are enduring and not get involved in some way.” Previously, as part of a medical relief mission in Romania, Ms. Rogovin saw the positive impact the Medical Missions Foundation team had on victims needing treatment and came away with the knowledge that every effort counts. Ms. Rogovin will donate 100% of the net proceeds to Japan via the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California.
Edible Excursions’ interactive flavor experience is scheduled during the lunch time-frame so that working professionals in the area may attend. This relief effort includes the generosity of Bo Thompson, owner of the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant, offering select sips of fine wine; Doug Stonebreaker, proprietor of Prather Ranch, with samples of Certified Humane sausages; Luis Villavelazquez, owner of Les Elements, preparing a sweet treat; Roy Fong, owner of the Imperial Tea Court, serving soothing, fragrant teas; Cy Olney, Manager of Scharffen Berger Chocolate, with a complimentary limited edition single origin Ben Tre Bar and a discount on purchases; and more.
Every Tuesday and Saturday, Edible Excursions’ SF Ferry Building Marketplace and Farmers Market Excursion includes local, seasonal tastes from artisans and farmers made available exclusively to its guests. Local epicurean concierges lead food lovers into the heart of of the Bay Area food scene for a culinary exploration that has San Franciscans buzzing about their city's famous landmark in a whole new way.
