Cafe Zinho

412-363-1500  •  $$
ADDRESS: 238 Spahr St, Pittsburgh, PA 15232
CUISINE: Mediterranean, Sandwiches, Global/Eclectic
FEATURES: BYOB, Handicap Access, Patio Seating, Smoke Free, Vegetarian Friendly, Cash Only
DESCRIPTION
Relaxed, funky Cafe Zinho attracts young trendsters and senior foodies alike to its converted-garage setting in the Shadyside neighborhood. What brings them here is not the flea-market-esque décor - though that certainly has appeal of its own - but the casual, eclectic gourmet cuisine, designed to show off the chef's creativity, attention to detail and commitment to fine ingredients. Seasonal soups, meal-sized salads, sandwiches, well-crafted entrées and excellent house-made desserts are prepared with a Continental flair.
"The entrees are diverse and made fresh with each order. Cafe Zinho offers shrimp and scallops with prickly pear sauce; chicken bascotano with Swiss cheese and piquillo pepper sauce; roasted duck with Grand Marnier sauce; Delmonico steak with Algarvinha and roasted chestnut sauce; fettucine with shellfish and tomato fennel sauce; crab cakes with lemon-vanilla sauce; and a salmon filet with onions, mushrooms, artichokes and spinach, among others."
- Pam Starr, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, April 4, 2010
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Cash or check only. No alcohol available. BYOB. Serving dinner Tue-Sat. Closed Sun-Mon.
