Shultzy's Sausage

206-548-9461  •  $
ADDRESS: 4114 University Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105
CUISINE: Late-Night Dining, Burgers, Cheese Steaks, Sandwiches, Hot Dogs
FEATURES: Full Bar, Handicap Access, Kid Friendly, Patio Seating, Smoke Free, Vegetarian Friendly
DESCRIPTION
Once a small, unremarkable lunch counter, Shultzy's is now a sleek and spacious hangout with a bar and booths. Don and Susan Schulze are known for grinding choice cuts of meats and adding a blend of fresh spices (free of nitrates and nitrites) to make some outstanding sausages and sirloin burgers. The best-selling, char-grilled sausage sandwiches — not your standard hot dogs, since these are in patty form — are served on grilled French rolls bathed in garlic, olive oil and butter with crispy fries and slaw. The house specialty, Shultzy, with grilled onions and peppers, is hard to beat. Then there’s the Novie Wedge with house-made marinara sauce, provolone and shredded Parmesan cheeses, or The Uncle Norm with chicken sausage, sun-dried tomatoes and basil. Sirloin burgers are char-grilled and served on hoagie rolls with a special sauce. Beyond sausage and burgers, there’s a considerable list of veggie burgers such as the BBQ Veggie or the Veggie Diablo with fresh salsa, sour cream and cheddar.
"... excellent sausages (kosher, andouille, Italian, you name it), onions and peppers optional, plenty of sauerkraut if you like it."
The Stranger
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner until late night daily.
