Mallorca

412-488-1818  •  $$$
ADDRESS: 2228 E Carson St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
CUISINE: Spanish, Seafood, Continental, Mediterranean
FEATURES: Full Bar, Handicap Access, Kid Friendly, Patio Seating, Smoke Free, Vegetarian Friendly
DESCRIPTION
Housed in an 1870s-era Victorian, Mallorca, with its vibrant atmosphere and well-prepared, home-style Spanish cuisine, has been one of Pittsburgh's most popular restaurants since its 1991 opening. The expansive menu specializes in seafood, with the paella perhaps the city's best version, along with veal, steak and chicken. Regardless of your order, the cooks at Mallorca use olive oil - no butter - to better reflect the Mediterranean diets in Spain and Portugal. Starters include gazpacho, broiled Spanish sausage and mussels in green sauce. Entrées include twin lobster tails in a cream sauce, chicken in garlic sauce and grilled salmon. Try the flan or chocolate mousse for dessert.
"Luckily, at Mallorca there's much more than great recipes. At any good restaurant, it's also about service and atmosphere. Isn't it always a plus when the service is just as impeccable as the food?"
- Luis Fabregas, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Sept. 20, 2007
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
