DESCRIPTION
First opened in 1977 and now with sister restaurant Big Jim's Roadhouse, Big Jim's has attracted the attention of Food Network star Guy Fieri and his Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show.

From JoAnne Klimovich Harrop, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Feb. 18, 2009:

"Big Jim's is not flashy or fancy. It's a bar with a dining area decorated with some sports memorabilia, including photos of Little League baseball teams the restaurant has supported. Nestled on a corner in 'Lower Greenfield,' or 'The Run,' as it's often referred to, this gem is where you can get good food - a lot of it - for not much cash."

"There are times when you want to go out to eat, with all that that implies: getting out of the house, eating food you wouldn't (or couldn't) cook at home, maybe even dressing up to see and be seen. Then there are times when you want to eat out but have it feel like staying home: comfy atmosphere, familiar food, no effort. For those times, there's take-out, or there's Big Jim's. "
- Pittsburgh City Paper
